Sony confirm three new colours for the PlayStation 5 console will release starting next month!

The PlayStation 5’s outlandish design caught the eye of many when it released in November 2020 but a lot of the player base who were lucky enough to get their hands on the ultra rare machine wanted more choice with the colour of the console. In January, they dropped Midnight Black and Cosmic Red with the new three colours finally on the horizon. PS5 owners can swap the face plates themselves to give it a new fresh look.

Alongside Midnight Black and Cosmic Red, the three new colours are Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple. The revolutionary DualSense controller is also getting a makeover matching the colours that the PlayStation console is getting. But unlike the console the new coloured controllers will reportedly come with improved parts to prevent stick drift and users can check a code on the back of the controller to verify that it has the new parts.

Sony is yet to reveal special edition custom designed PlayStation 5 consoles whereas the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro over their lifespan had uniquely designed consoles around the flagship games of the time such as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man. But with options for PlayStation 5 owners starting to become more vast their is an increasing worry that the shape and design of said console could change over the next 18 months like the PS4 and PS4 Pro having multiple design changes over the 7 predominant years of it’s life. Some gamers do want to see a change in console design as it’s novel, impractical and rather large design in comparison to it’s main competitor the Xbox Series X, fans want to see a slimmer more sleek design to appear in the future. Controversy has been lingering over the choice of colours as when the PlayStation 5 console was released many fans were begging for third party accessory makers including Dbrand to provide black face plates to replace the white ones. Sony are known for not working well with others as they sent a cease and desist to Dbrand forcing them to stop selling them immediately aggravating many fans, it’s taken them 18 months after release of the console for them to finally move into the market of giving us a choice of colours.

Insomniacs 2018 Spider-Man title is obviously one of the greatest superhero games of all time. I don’t think that’s a controversial statement, is it? It granted us a compelling, emotional Spidey story, thrilling fighting mechanics (which helped inspire NWH might we add) and all the villains our hearts could desire.

Not only this, but the recreation of the open-world of Manhattan is undoubtedly one of the best incarnations of the city I’ve ever seen in gaming. The Big Apple is jam-packed with exciting side activities, ranging from thwarting random dangerous crimes to collecting Howards lost pigeons. Just goes to show that no problem is too small for our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.

These side missions perfectly showcase the daily dilemmas our favourite hero faces. Not every threat is going to lead to a city-wide panic, which is what I think really helps make the character more relatable than other infamous superheroes such as The Avengers. Would you have seen Iron Man fetching lost purple balloons for children on the streets of NYC? I don’t think so.

Despite the wide variety of missions to delve into, there was indeed one unique activity which we’ve seen previously that failed to make an appearance. This one event has led fans to cry out for its addition in the upcoming sequel, but what exactly could it be?

Have fans missed the Pizza Time sequences from Spider-Man 2? Perhaps its the comic book collecting we did in The Amazing Spider-Man title? Or could it even be the decision-making we were forced to make in Web Of Shadows? Well, there’s only one way for you to find out! Spider-Man Fans Hope For Fire Rescue Missions In Sequel

Of course it’s the Fire Rescue missions! How could it not be? A stalwart in every Raimi Spider-Man film, fans would love to see their transition to gaming once more  to add even more variety to the roster. Whether from freak accidents or calculated arsonists, any excuse to get them part of the game play would be very much appreciated.

Fans expressed their interest in seeing Fire Rescue Missions on Reddit, with the idea gaining popularity fairly quickly. Would you like to be swinging in saving civilians from falling debris? It’d certainly make you feel like Spider-Man, that’s for sure.

Formerly, we had seen them appear in the controversial movie tie-in Amazing Spider-Man 2 game. However, like the game itself, they were fairly hit-or-miss with certain players. For example, on reddit user suggested they would have to be implemented very differently if they were to be a success in the new game.

“Spider sense acts very differently so you won’t have to switch between looking for people and seeing the walls” says Kbcoolkid. “This will definitely make it easier. I still have PTSD from those awful fire missions and I would avoid them at all costs”.

Despite this, many others would still welcome the concept, as it allows them to feel like they’re saving people instead of just repetitively defeating enemies.

“I Strongly second that idea” writes Reddit user KuroiGetsuga. “It was one of the few things I liked in TASM 2, to go in, find people, and pull them out one by one. We need more events where we actually have to save people instead of just beating up bad guys. We have car accidents in Spider-Man PS4, but I miss the events from Ultimate where you actually had to carry people to the hospital before they bleed out and die”.

The post Spider-Man Fans Want Old Side Mission In Sequel first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Calling all Spider-Man fans, who’s ready for the new web crawling adventure then? Having seen the film myself last night, I can tell you all now you’re in for an absolute treat. It’s a true love letter for Spider-Man fans throughout the ages and will be adored by those who can’t get enough of the web slinger.

Whilst the multiverse brings together all sorts of Spider-Man fun from previous films, it doesn’t just stop there. According to No Way Home star Tom Holland, the film even snuck in one of Insomniac’s Spider-Man fighting moves into the action. This is what he had to say upon 2018’s smash hit game:

“I have played the video game,” he said. “I absolutely loved it. Sony were obviously very generous […] I think the game is amazing. I think it’s so fun. The swinging around the city is so well done. There’s actually one move that Spider-Man does in the game that we took, and he does in the film, and it’s really cool.”

Unfortunately, Holland doesn’t quite specify what move he mimics in the movie. I must say, I didn’t quite notice anything, but then again I was too overwhelmed by the spectacle of it all to truly take in everything. Maybe my second and third viewings of the film will help me spot better easter eggs. Let’s hope so.

Adversely, it looks like Insomniac have actually replicated the kind gesture by referencing No Way Home in their latest update. They recently added two new spider-suits which are inspired by No Way Home to Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition. Unfortunately, they haven’t been added to the PS4 versions of the game, much to the frustration of some fans.

So who’s excited for the latest release in the MCU then? As previously mentioned, it was an absolutely fantastic experience which I couldn’t recommend highly enough. If you’re still quite doubtful, well don’t just take my word for it, check out what critics are saying about it here.

Despite the fact I’m trying to keep this spoiler-free, it’s quite obvious by now through trailers and promotion that there are villains in the film from other Spider-Man universes. However, this wasn’t always going to be the case. Speaking to Extraordinerd, Tom Holland admitted the marketing was going to look very different at the beginning.

“The initial plan was to make the film seem like a civil war between [Spider-Man] and Doctor Strange,” said Holland. “They were going to keep everything a secret.”

Insomniac Games have stated why PS4 users aren’t getting exclusives for Marvel’s Spider-Man 

Spider-Man: No Way Home comes out in over a week here in the UK and it’s shaping up to be the film of the year, maybe even coming for Endgame’s crown for the highest-grossing MCU film in the franchise with how many tickets have been pre-booked already.

And, of course, it means games will be offering exclusives and tie-in events to the movie too, in order to increase the hype. Spider-Man is already coming to Fortnite, and fans can also expect exclusive content for Marvel’s Spider-Man too.

But only for PS5 users.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered

The exclusive content for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered includes the red, black, and gold Integrated Suit and the black-and-gold suit from Spider-Man: No Way Home, which will be released on December 10, 5 days before the film drops in the UK.

As you may expect, only having exclusive content for PS5 users will cause an upset amongst the PS4 users, especially when the game was originally released as a PS4 exclusive, yet Insomniac Games gave a reason as to why PS4 users haven’t received this content.

Apparently, the 19 updates that have already happened for Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4 was adding additional content that wasn’t originally planned and wears on the streaming performance from PS4’s hard drive, so Insomniac decided to leave the exclusive content out to ensure optimal performance for PS4 users.

Which, in turn, made fans angrier. They believe the reason is not justifiable and believe Insomniac Games is actually moving Marvel’s Spider-Man to be a PS5 exclusive only. The fact Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is a PS5 exclusive, also backs up this theory.

It’s sad companies resort to this when people might not be able to afford next-gen consoles, so maybe Insomniac Games will listen to the backlash this exclusive content has caused.

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have released the first images for their upcoming Marvel’s Avengers DLC that includes the exclusive character, Spider-Man.

Fans became excited last week when the release date for the DLC titled “With Great Power” was announced, and now they get to be even more excited by these images.

With Great Power DLC

With Great Power DLC references the iconic slogan used in the original Spider-Man’s comic and will be released on November 30 and is exclusive to PS4 and PS5.

The released image gives fans a glimpse of Spider-Man’s outfit, which largely follows the high-tech designs from recent media such as the Spider-Man films and Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. It also looks as though this version of Peter Parker will be a new interpretation of the character. One notable difference is the hands and soles of his costume feature a black, rubber-like protective material. Spider-Man is also starring alongside noticeable, Marvel characters in the backshot too.

It was also confirmed a while back the With Great Power DLC will feature an interesting story and new cutscenes. Previously, Square Enix released the War for Wakanda DLC which added a new storyline and superhero, Black Panther, voiced by Christopher Judge, who played Kratos from God of War. Spider-Man’s voice actor has not been announced, yet we’ll likely get to hear Peter Parker’s voice in the upcoming reveal trailer.

We have known for some time that Spiderman is on his way to the somewhat lackluster “Marvel’s Avengers” video game by square enix, but now, at long last we have a release date.

As revealed in the most recent roadmap update posted to Twitter, Spiderman will Launch on the 30th of november 2021 as a part of the games next major event. That being said, this is only for PlayStation 4 and 5 players. PC and Xbox players will not see Spiderman enter the game due to Sony owning the rights to the character and Holding an Iron fist over them. Between the ever growing doubt of Spiderman’s Continued existence in the Marvel Cinematic universe and now this, Sony seems hell bent on Controlling Everything to do with the character.

The Event will be titled “Spider man: With Great Power Hero Event” (which really rolls of the tongue) and will follow Spidey as he uncovers an Aims conspiracy to Build a “Synthoid army”. It has also been suggested that Spidey will develop a close friendship with Kamala Khan Miss Marvel and Black widow, while simultaneously trying to keep his identity from them both.

Everything else about spider man’s addition to the game, including his appearance, is being kept under wraps but developer Crystal Dynamics.

Marvels Avengers has had a rough Time recently, with controversy over the selling of XP boosters and “Pay to Win mechanics” in the game, although as of yesterday it has come out that these are being removed from the game.

PlayStation 5 players will also get to see the sequel to 2018’s “Marvels Spiderman” in 2023, which will see Peter and Miles take on Venom.

Over the last 30 days Square Enix’s “Avengers” game, which at one point looked like a promising game, has struggled to break over 800 concurrent players on steam. Even with the boost of new players from the game coming to XBox game pass, “Avengers” has been doing worse and worse as the months go on.

And it just gets worse. Shortly after the game came to XBox Game Pass, Square updated “Avengers” to sell XP boosters, in a stark betrayal of a promise made in june of 2019, that the game would “Wont have won’t have random loot boxes or pay to win scenarios”

The XP boosters price varies, costing between 100 Credits to 500 Credits, or roughly $5 in real money. This also comes after a massive nerf to XP rates back in March, under the guise that the XP rate was “Too confusing” for new players.

Some players also worry that this marks a shift in direction, and that the free consumables offered currently will eventually be phased out, in favour of the game going for a full Free-to-play style.

While there is some debate as to if this change does constitute “Pay to Win”, given the game does not have any PVP, it is undeniable that the reception has been overwhelmingly negative. One reddit user, FantasticMeddler, wrote “SE and CD decided a long time ago that new players were their priority and those of us that pre ordered were paid beta testers. They could give a fuck for any existing players except the whales.”

Another, Motor_Structure7156 wrote in a separate post “They blatantly and repeatedly stated there would be no Loot Boxes or Pay-to-win mechanics. Labeling it `Pay-to-progress-a-bit-faster` is more accurate perhaps but it does not negate the lie that they told. If I am ignorant or disingenuous for calling a spade a spade and not a `human-tool digging interface appliance` then so be it.

As the game struggles to find a footing amid numerous other controversies, this will definitely not help “Avengers” in the long term. The game has struggled to hit a chord with any player base and came out into a market saturated with heavy hitters like “Destiny 2”, “Warframe” and “Borderlands”, so even this potentially drop-in-the-ocean controversy will be a big problem for the game going forward.

PlayStation Showcase announced some epic upcoming releases yesterday and this one has certainly got people’s spidey senses tingling…

PlayStation Showcase took place last night and everybody was excited about the titles that were announced, including Insomniac Games announcing the sequel to its PS4 exclusive Spider-Man, with the PS5 exclusive Spider-Man 2. 

The news was announced in a reveal trailer for the PlayStation Showcase and revealed that Venom would be the main antagonist for the sequel too.

Spider-Man 2 Trailer Breakdown

The 1:37 length reveal trailer for Spider-Man 2 manages to pack a punch with the very few scenes of cutscenes and gameplay footage involved. It opens up with a shot of an eerie street at night in New York City (captured on a PS5) and the voiceover of Tony Todd (Candyman, 2021), starting what can only be described as the typical villain sinister monologue, but it still sends shivers down your spine with the suspenseful music playing behind his perfectly hoarse voice. We then see Peter Parker’s iconic blue and red Spider-Man suit along with a scene of him taking down a bad guy in his Iron Spider Suit, followed by a shot of Miles Morales iconic black and red Spider-Man suit and a scene of him taking down a bad guy. We then see a cut of the two of them working together as the unrevealed villain continues to describe how he has yet to meet his match, and as the camera cuts back to Parker and Morales standing together in the street staring into a dark alleyway, the voice hints that Parker and Morales could give him what he so “desires”. The suspense picks up as the camera shifts towards the alleyway and we hear the distinguishable voice of Venom replying to the question, and a split second of Venom’s face appears as the end scene for the trailer, and the trailer ends the game will be out in 2023.

Spider-Man 2: What We Know

Spider-Man 2 is going to be a PS5 exclusive, which worked really well for the original, having been initially released back in 2018 and has now sold over 18 million units so far, while the spin-off game, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, released last year has sold over 4 million units.

Tony Todd was cast as the voice of Venom in what is the perfect casting for the role as seen in the trailer above, and it has been confirmed Yuri Lowenthal and Nadji Jeter will return to voice Peter Parker and Miles Morales respectively. It has also been confirmed the original development team behind Spider-Man will be returning too.

Who doesn’t love a good superhero suit?

Marvel’s Spider-Man certainly gives us a wide variety in the game, with over 40 different Spider-Man suits to unlock in the main game and also in the downloadable content, The City That Never Sleeps. They range from the Iron Spider suit to the Spider-Punk suit (that gives you the power to defeat enemies by literally rocking out on your guitar), but a fan on Reddit has come forward with a rather unique idea.

Marvel’s Spider-Man fans are always being creative with their ideas for the next in-game suit designs. For example, one Reddit user showed us what Spider-Man would look like in a Symbiote Suit. Yet Reddit user Loner216 has suggested a very unique suit to celebrate the 4th of July in America: Captain America’s suit.

Fans rarely focus on real-world holidays when designing the suits, however the recent Marvel comic book covers are the reason behind this inspiration. A new set of variant covers that celebrate 80 years of Captain America have been showing different Marvel characters donning the Captain America suit, from Moon Knight to the Fantastic Four. Thus, Loner216 suggested Spider-Man’s version of the suit should be added to the game.

It’s surprising to know Spider-Man has never worn the iconic stars and stripes look in the comics before, especially when he manages to pull it off so well. The red outlined eyes and dark blue shade look similar to the Miles Morales suit; a light blue line extends from shoulders to midsection, and red and white stripes travel from his chest down to his stomach, with a silver star being the centre of the suit. And of course, he is holding Captain America’s shield.

The suit would be a perfect addition to the game as it could give Spider-Man Captain America powers- possibly the ability to use the shield too. He certainly would be unstoppable combining shield throws with his webbing powers and it’s definitely something everyone would love to see.
