Dead by Daylight has recently revealed a second collaboration with Resident Evil, titled Resident Evil: PROJECT W. This will be the twenty-fifth chapter for the game, and will feature three new playable characters from the Resident Evil franchise.

Dead by Daylight is a multi-player horror/survival game that features four survivors and a single killer, each with a different objective. The killer must hunt, chase and hook the survivors, whilst the survivors must work together to repair generators, evade the killer and escape.

Dead by Daylight is no stranger to collaborating with other franchises, with horror icons including Leatherface, Pyramid Head, Ghostface and Pinhead all being introduced into the game since its launch in 2016. This also isn’t the first collaboration between Dead by Daylight and CAPCOM, with Jill Valentine, Leon S Kennedy and The Nemesis, all being added into the game in June 2021.

Resident Evil: Project W will introduce two new survivors; resident super spy, Ada Wong and young S.T.A.R.S. recruit and medic, Rebecca Chambers, along with one new killer; former Umbrella officer, Albert Wesker (simply referred to as ‘The Mastermind’ in The Fog).

The chapter will also introduce a reworked Raccoon City Police Department map, which has been split into two separate maps; East Wing and West Wing.

Similarly to Chapter 20: Resident Evil’s Nemesis, Albert Wesker harnesses the ability to inflict survivors with a virus, which can only becured with first aid spray littered in chests, around the map. Wesker also has the ability to throw his victims a great distance due to the Uroboros Virus that has infected his body.

Whilst no specific release date has been announced as of late, it is scheduled to be released on all platforms, in Autumn 2022.

The new multiplayer Wordle clone – Mordle – claims to feature up to 100 players per lobby

It’s been hard to miss the soaring success that Wordle has been. The popular world-based puzzle game took the internet by storm this year, growing to the point where it was purchased by the New York Times. The game has occupied a unique space between solitary experience, and shared social experience. Players will tend to work alone to work out the five-letter word of the day, then compare how quickly they arrived there with friends. However, players need not play alone anymore. Mordle directly pits players against each other, in a more competitive experience.

Mordle combines the same basic puzzle formula from Wordle, with multiplayer functionality. Players can face off against, up to 99 opponents in a single lobby. These lobbies can either be public ones, filled with random players, or password-protected private ones, for competing against friends. In either setting, the goal remains the same. Players will attempt to guess the five-letter word within six tries, receiving clues after each guess.

How it works

In Mordle, players will see a leaderboard which shows the progress of everyone else in your lobby. As other players correctly guess the word, or run out of attempts, those statistics will be shown on the screen. Successful players will also be notified to how many of their competitors they beat to the answer.

Whilst the classic mode simply adds more players and a time limit, there are additional modes in this clone too. Sprint for instance, lets players guess three different words against competitors. Meanwhile the planned Elevenses mode, gives players ten minutes to solve as many words as possible.

Whichever player gets the answer first, or the most answers right, will be the winner. However, the other players will be allowed to continue for as long as there is time on the clock.

Whilst Mordle is in the early stages, having run some tests with only about a dozen players, it presents some exciting opportunities for fans of the game. Whilst to many, the single word of the day is part of the charm of Wordle, some would be keen to tackle multiple words, or test themselves against friends. With Mordle, those players will get their wish. Avid puzzlers will be able to get together with strangers and friends, to indulge in as much wordle puzzle solving as they please.

I find it hard to believe that I’m technically a Zoomer, but being old enough to remember a time when online multiplayer wasn’t based on yearly payments? I must be a dinosaur! Hope you enjoy this latest Nintendo Top Picks piece folks!

With Kirby And The Forgotten Land (PSST, which we have) coming up and promising a fun multiplayer experience, let me take you on a semi-autobiographical journey through the wild and wonderful world of multiplayer gaming!

Outside of PS2 Tekken games and other fighters, my first love with multiplayer was Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, the first Wii game I played, even. While most of the party games were competitive, there were also cooperative modes. I have many a fond memory of playing that plunger-shooting Time Crisis-style campaign with my brother.

When we got our mitts on Mario Kart Wii, bro and I would try, fail and sometimes succeed in out-racing folks in online play, riding with other friends online where possible.

Even had a gay ol’ time with Star Wars Battlefront 2 (no, not that one).

And the best part? All completely free. No monthly PS+ Subscriptions, no PC-building shenanigans. Online modes in gaming were just there! So there was a bit of a private mourning period around 2014 when Nintendo removed it’s online multiplayer features for the Wii.

Don’t get me wrong, I have and will sing the praises of many great modern games with multiplayer modes. Cuphead, Broforce, even the new Tekken and Mario Kart titles are leagues better in many ways.

And to any folks at Nintendo reading this, me and my mates would pay good money for a full-on Double Dash mode if you’re thinking of future Deluxe expansions! Pretty please? With sugar on top?

And as much as I mock the “disembodied multiplayer” functions of Mario Galaxy and Odyssey, I’d be lying if I didn’t say they weren’t fun to play, especially with company.

That said, this is literally THE only time where a “they don’t make em like they used to” argument actually makes sense! To riff on an old analogy: I don’t want “them” to make Blazing Saddles again (although “they” could), but if they do, maybe make it so parts of it aren’t locked behind a gosh-darn pay wall!

Jokes aside, I’m a realist, going back to free online modes isn’t likely. At the end of the day, as long as we keep getting fun quality games (as we have been getting for a while now), then I’m a happy duck… Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk, now let me waddle away!

Oh Ubisoft, you lovable, adorable, totally not problematic and dishonest conglomerate of known rapist-protectors… But, one of my first blogs was on Skull and Bones, so I’ll keep the usual cynical roasting to a minimum (if I can help it) out of pure vaguely para-social sentimental value. To this day I can’t get over that “packet of crisps” joke, not to toss my own tube-steak.

Celebrate Good Times (Come On): For starters, Ubisoft recently announced that it’s happy with how Skull and Bones is taking shape after so many delays (having changed direction multiple times over 5 years of development)… And now I’m about to break my earlier promise from one paragraph ago because-

Frédérick Duguet (Professional Multi-Accent-Lettered Name-Haver and CFO to Ubisoft) announced Skull and Bones will be scrapping it’s previously promised single-player campaign to purely focus on multiplayer experiences.

There was also discussion in September of the game’s boarding mechanics being down to a somewhat luck-based mini game, which… I mean, that’s bad enough in a single player game, but that’s POISON in a multiplayer game! I’m not exactly a professional designer, but the odd delves into Game Maker’s Toolkit showed me that making certain types of luck too essential in player-on-player action can reduce fairness and interaction. I think Mr Falcon and Jim Carry in Liar Liar sum up my thoughts exactly!

Good News? Anything At All? Pretty Please? With Sugar on Top? Since I asked so nicely, sure! While the game hasn’t got a precise release date in mind, Ubisoft’s latest financial reports suggest the project will be ready for release sometime in April 2023. And besides Ubisoft taking the game in a ‘live service’ direction, a lot of the mechanics and leaks from industry insider Tom Henderson build the game up to seem like an epic one.

And good news for me? Well, Storm Eunice is making everything look like the opening to Rashamon outside as I write this, maybe I can use the opportunity to brew up a short film during break or after work if I’m feeling it. I’m sure I could probably string together some retroactively Hashtag Deep narration and context in post, fingers crossed!

Halo Infinite launches on December 8th for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It appears that it won’t be the only thing keeping Halo fans occupied before the end of the year, as developer 343 Industries has confirmed that more fan-favorite modes will be returning to the game’s online playlists.

New Modes Coming to Halo Infinite!

Playlists for Fiesta, Tactical Slayer (SWAT), and Free-For-All modes should be ready by the end of the year, according to Halo community manager John Junyszek.

SWAT is a long-time favourite Halo mode  amongst fans that removes your shields and motion tracker while issuing you with a “hitscan” weapon like the battle rifle (projectiles that hit instantly and have no travel time). As a result, the play style is intense, with a single shot having the potential to be fatal.

Fiesta, on the other hand, starts players with a random weapon combination. That goes for any weapon, so you might get lucky respawn with a rocket launcher and an energy sword or a plasma pistol and a battle rifle. It’s a more casual mode that we already had a taste of during the Tenai event.Free-for-All is as expected, with everyone battling it out amongst themselves.

Multiplayer in Halo Infinite

While having Halo Infinite’s multiplayer out before of the story is good, the quantity of modes available to play left me wanting a lot more.

Slayer, Oddball, Capture The Flag, and Strongholds are the only game types accessible in regular matchmaking . There’s also three Big Team Battle modes available in another playlis. While the majority of these are a lot of fun and have a wide range of objectives, it doesn’t provide enough variety. The same game types appear too much. The randomness of them too makes it hard to meet certain challenge objectives for experience.

Having the option to vary things up with additional returning game options will keep things interesting. More control over which game modes we are playing will make levelling the battle pass up easier too.

It’s a good  upgrade to Halo Infinite’s multiplayer before the year ends. Other iconic modes like Forge and the co-op campaign are still a little way off. Hopefully 343 Industries will continue to update the game and listen to player feedback in the meantime though.

Halo Infinite’s Multiplayer is currently available for free on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC. The full game will release on December 8th.

Wanted to try out Vanguard? Been apprehensive about purchasing because it’s been bashed? All the bugs and exploits? Well the  Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer is free this weekend. This means you have the perfect opportunity to give the online a go. This was announced in an official Activision blog posted on November 16th. Good timing too, as they just patched some things in the game yesterday.

What Time Does the Free Call of Duty: Mulitplayer Weekend Start?

The Call of Duty: Vanguard free multiplayer weekend begins November 18th at 1pmET / 6pm GMT and ends November 22nd at 1pm ET / 6pm GMT.  The game isn’t available to pre-load, you’ll have to wait until the demo begins at that time to install the game’s multiplayer.

How to Download the Call of Duty Vanguard Free Multiplayer

While I can’t say for sure how the download process will work because the demo isn’t yet available, I can give some general advice based on how prior free multiplayer weekends for Black Ops Cold War worked.

1. Go to the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store on the web or on your platform of choice.
2. Search for “Vanguard free.” It’s possible you may also see the demo offered on the front page of either storefront once the above-listed start time rolls around.
3. The search should return some sort of Call of Duty: Vanguard free multiplayer demo.
4. Download that demo and play.

On PC, simply open Battle.net and select “play free” from the Call of Duty: Vanguard tab.

What’s Included in Vanguard’s Free Access Weekend?

Unlike previous free multiplayer or Zombies events, the initial one for Call of Duty: Vanguard gives players access to the whole competitive multiplayer component of the game. That means that throughout the free multiplayer weekend, you’ll have access to every map, mode, and playlist available in the full purchase.

Dead by daylight is well known for its crossovers with popular horror franchises, the most recent of which being the addition of the Cenobyte Pinhead from the hellraiser movies. However its next crossover may have already leaked online.

Current rumors circulating online speculate the games next chapter is going to go by the name “the crows nest” and after that chapter 23 is going to be based on the Conjuring film franchise by “Saw” Director James Wan. The Films are Fictionalised versions (often heavily fictionalised) of the lives of Ed and Lorain Warren, A real life couple who would travel the world dealing with supposed supernatural occurrences. As to which entities from the franchise would make their way into Dead by Daylight, it is currently unclear, although from the possessed doll Annabelle to the Demonic Nun Valak, there are plenty of potential candidates.

With all this having been said, the leak has yet to be officially confirmed by any sources tied to the game, so at this point this is all purely speculation. This may all be Fake, and so fans of both Dead By Daylight and The Conjuring should take this with a grain of salt.

So far, Dead By Daylight has crossed over with numerouse horror Movies and Games, Such as Halloween, Stranger things, Nightmare on Elm Street and even Resident Evil. of course there are also some maybe more obvious Horror Icons that have Evaded the game, such as Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th, who instead has appeared in his own asymmetric multiplayer game.

Sledgehammer Games speak on the use of DualSense that will be implemented into Call of Duty: Vanguard and the addition of four New Multiplayer Operators.

Call of Duty have shown clear focus on applying real qualities and features into Vanguard to give players a realistic experience. This being shown by the real-life WWII setting, the attention to detail, the weapons used and more. PlayStation 5 DualSense controller feature is used to “Heighten your senses” with “immersive haptic feedback, dynamic adaptive triggers and a built-in microphone, all integrated into an iconic design.”

Depending on the gun of choice on Call of Duty: Vanguard. Players are to apply dissimilar amounts of pressure to the shooting trigger with this also applying to the aiming trigger. The controller will also give feedback, allowing the players to feel the weight of the gun as they fire with gun attachments also having affect on the feedback.

Sledgehammer Principal Engineer, Chris Fowler states in a PlayStation Blog; “Our goal in Call of Duty: Vanguard was to simulate the trigger weight of real-world weapons, and to give the player the opportunity to find the trigger pull that works for them in the game.”

“The feedback applied by the DualSense controller doesn’t just impact the firing trigger in Vanguard, but the scope trigger as well, meaning the downsight speed and L2 trigger weight changes based upon what weapon you’re wielding.  For example. heavy weapons will feel heavy, lighter weapons will feel light, and everything in between.  Plus, the attachments you have on your weapon will play a role in this as well, so it’s a factor to consider as you’re making your selections.” He stated.

Fowler then proceeds to explain how the use of DualSense’s haptic feedback will work for players.

“So when enemy fire is tearing through your cover, you will feel the impacts of the bursts and debris around you”

The use of DualSense brings players a much more realistic feel to the game, closing the gap between gaming and real-life war.

In a separate PlayStation Blog, Sledgehammer also details four new multiplayer operators.

Main character, Arthur Kingsley is amongst one of the four added multiplayer operators with him previously only being able to feature on the single player campaign mode. With the only other already revealed campaign mode player, Polina Petrova also being one of the four new operators added onto multiplayer. Both being playable on Campaign Mode.

Other two operators are completely brand new, one being Daniel Take Yatsu, a brave loyal soldier that keeps the promise of “no one gets left behind”. Lastly is Padmavati Balan, a rogue soldier that hates imperialism. She troops alone on a mission to save her people.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is scheduled for release on November 5^th when all the discussed Vanguard content will finally be playable.

With Vanguard writers hoping on playing a hand in creating two sequels for the game, stated earlier this month. Also being discussed during a New York Comic Con panel by Sledgehammer contractor Sam Maggs. She stated that she hopes Vanguard’s characters can become new mascots for the blockbuster franchise over multiple series entries.

With Halloween just around the corner…

Phasmophobia continues to grow since its incredibly successful early access launch just over a year ago. For those unaware, the terrifying multiplayer experience revolves around you and your friends assuming the role of amateur ghost hunters, adventuring into haunted locations attempting to identify the unknown entity. Since its launch, the developer, Kinetic Games, has consistently introduced new features and ghosts into their game, maintaining the title’s active status on Twitch. A neat touch was the ability to interact with the environment once murdered, spooking your friends in the land of the living. Previous newly introduced ghost types have included the Yokai and the Hantu, who hail from different regions worldwide. Kinetic Games maintains this work ethic as two new kinds of ghouls are set to enter the game.

The teaser image shows two new ghost types, although their names and the specifics are blurred out. This brings the total number of ghosts in the game to 18.

These two new mysterious ghost friends appear to be part of the Halloween Update, which is currently listed as “In Progress” on the developer’s public Trello board. In addition, there is an upcoming Nightmare Difficulty option for particularly hardy hunters, some features that are simply marked as REDACTED, and more.

More details about Phasmophobia’s next update will be released closer to Halloween, but it looks like it’ll be a great time to pick the flashlight back up and explore what the early access title has to offer.

The post New Phasmophobia Ghosts Are On The Way first appeared on Get2Gaming.

It has only been two weeks since seeing the release of Overwatch, however ESL are happy to welcome the game with open arms to give the game its official Go4 Tournament series. This officially kicked of yesterday. It is no surprise that Overwatch was welcomed into the competitive gaming world after the amazing figures they pulled of so very quickly after actually releasing the game. The game has had a very happy response with fans and it is easy to see how interesting how teams actually put themselves together to make the ultimate team.

The Go4 series are put together so there are 4 to 5 cups each month were teams can pick up cash throughout the month. The prize pool will be share between the top two of the monthly finals, where the best eight teams will clash once. The prize pool will be €600 for the winner and €300 for the runner up.

Overwatch are definitely going to compete to become one of the largest Esports games and is going to really show teamwork and skills of individual team members with their different characters.
