In this day and age, promotional tie-ins are all the range. It’s hardly unsurprising to find your favourite movie character advertising the latest coffee machine, or an animation character trying to sell you some new kitchen utensils. However, to find the iconic Red Dead protagonist, John Marston, branded on an unknown shoe company, well that takes some beating.

For those unfamiliar with the series, John Marston is essentially one of the most feared men in the Wild West. The first game in the series sees him hunt down his former gang members who betrayed him, a story we later see unfold in the prequel Red Dead Redemption II. Therefore, surely it shouldn’t be too much of a shock to see him in a store which sells cowboy and western-styled merchandise?

Of course, that’s what you would think. On the other hand, its much more likely that this appearance isn’t a legitimate deal but instead an accidental blunder from the Shoe Brand. This is because on the shoebox which he was found, there is no official branding tied into Red Dead Redemption, nor that of Rockstar Games. What could of happened here then we wonder? We’ll discuss that in due course. Firstly, check out the image taken from subreddit down below:

Rockstar Not Unfamiliar With Red Dead Merch- But This One Isn’t Theirs

This Shoe Brand could be in real trouble here, we reckon. Could this have been done by accident though? Many people in the comments seem to believe so. It is very likely that the graphic designer for the brand searched online for a cowboy to gain inspiration from, and stumbled upon the iconic gunslinger. They could’ve thought that with the image flipped and his hat shadowing most of his face, he’d be unrecognisable.

Clearly, what they didn’t count on is the influence with which Red Dead holds amongst fans globally. So much so, certain players even turned the game into a novel so they could share the experience with their father. Subsequently, they should’ve expected fans to spot good ol’ John, and have messed up quite badly here as it is a violation of copyright law. Yikes.

Throughout the years, Rockstar haven’t been a stranger to advertisement and product tie-ins with its game. We’ve seen a clothing lines for Red Dead Redemption 2 , Red Dead candles and even GTA Brass Knuckle Mugs. As a result, they’re likely to be getting involved in this issue sometime soon. New year but same old problems for Rockstars recently remastered GTA Trilogy it seems. After the disastrous digital launch of the hotly anticipated title, the boxed edition has fallen to the same fate by dropping out of the UK Top 40 just a mere two weeks after its release. Yikes.

The PlayStation and Xbox versions of the collection were released physically just before Christmas, following the remasters’ digital release in November (the boxed Nintendo Switch edition is due later). Despite their delayed release, it looks like Rockstar haven’t managed to veer the sinking ship into the right direction just yet.

The signs were certainly there from the off. This is because just one week after its release, sales had dropped 70% to No.23. Whilst that was obviously disappointing, this takes things to a whole new level. Before we delve into what Rockstar intend to do about the situation, have a quick look at the trailer for the game below.

Is The Damage Already Done For The GTA Trilogy?

How could they get this so wrong? That’s the question we seem to still be continuously asking all these months later. They had three of the best games of the PS2 era in their hands, and somehow managed to turn it into something so disappointing. However, could there be a way back for the franchise?

Rockstar certainly hope so. Despite their failed efforts, it’s clear they still do really care about the fan reception by listening to the list of complaints players had. Additionally, they also issued an apology us all explaining their regret on how the trilogy launched.

“The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world,” it said. “The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.”

“We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and to improve each game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be.”

In my opinion, we really can’t be too spiteful to the studio. They may have messed up, but what game company in the last twenty years hasn’t had the odd blip? I’m sure Rockstar will get back to delivering high quality games for us to consume, and I can’t wait for it. That’s right folks, during the latest GTAV Online Contract DLC missions, a surprised player happened upon a glitch that magically gave their female character a big beautiful bushy beard! I hi-lariously dub this ‘the Ladybeard glitch’, in loving reference to pro-wrestler and stunt man, Ladybeard. For more on him, have a butcher’s at this podcast interview with the lad, tis a fun watch.

On the GTA Online subreddit, user FudgeControl shared an image of their player character sitting alongside Franklin Clinton (one of the three story mode protagonists of GTAV)… I’m sorry, but if you’ll indulge my lizard-brain tendency to find connections in everything, is it me or is FudgeControl’s character not the spitting image of soy-hater (and soy salesman) Paul Joseph Watson? Food for thought folks!

Rockstar Games (to my knowledge) has not addressed how this hi-larious glitch came about, but players have theorised it may be to do with having multiple custom characters in the GTAV Online Mode.

Some players also reported having their character’s makeup and hair (facial and otherwise) transported onto other characters in cutscenes! I mean, imagine Franklin walking down the street with a blonde Karen haircut and asking to speak to the manager at Shaft Hotdogs because it tasted more like JK Rowling than Jammidodger!

Female custom characters don’t normally have access to facial hair options in GTAV, so ironically enough, the devs at Rockstar kinda shot themselves in the foot as far as a potential solution to the problem goes. I mean, if woman characters were able to have beards all along, then FudgeControl could’ve just flipped a switch on the character creation board and called it a day. There’s also been some discussion among fans that it’s a shame the option to have bearded women doesn’t really exist in GTAV or Red Dead Redemption 2, some of the biggest Rockstar games of all time. I mean, the devs at RDR2 especially make such a big song and dance about realism that they implemented true-to-life shrinking horse-bollocks for Sobek‘s sake! So, I’m pretty sure incorporating facial hair for all the Lettie Lutzes of the world wouldn’t be too much more of a stretch.

Besides new cosmetic options and outfits, GTA Online hasn’t announced any plans for new facial hair options.

GTA 5 is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.

We revisit our beloved Franklin through a rollercoaster of events…

GTA V Online is still alive and well. It continues to maintain an astounding concurrent player count and Rockstar, as a result, continue to add content to it. I mean, it is about to be remastered across three different generations of consoles, an unprecedented feat.

Rockstar’s latest expansion, named The Contract, is due to land today. The Contract will kick off a couple of years after the main story’s ending. Players will be tasked with assisting Franklin while he sets up his new business, an agency that solves celebrities’ problems. Considering it’s Los Santos, the plan is unlikely to go smoothly, and players will find themselves in the middle of another thrilling adventure.

Though the expansion focuses on the new storyline, it also comes with new cars, but not as plentiful as Los Santos Tuners.

The Contract will be available for download on Dec. 15 across all platforms for free. Rockstar Games hasn’t officially stated when players can start downloading the new expansion but based on previous releases, it should come around 9am GMT. Download times may vary upon launch since a decent portion of the player base will try to install it as soon as it goes live.

In other news, October and November have seen some big next-gen titles released, including Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, FIFA 22, Far Cry 6, and Left 4 Dead’s spiritual successor, Back 4 Blood. Oh, Rockstar. Honey. Baby. My darling GTA holes. Corporate Uncritical Networking Teams of epic proportions! We NEED to talk… Just, in general, like, wanna get a pint after reading? Your treat, of course.

To briefly summarize before we get to the news: Rockstar has been making so much money from GTA 5 and GTA Online that they’re basically the Disney of gaming companies, in that they don’t really have to try too hard to make stuff anymore because that Scrooge McDuckian money pool isn’t exactly going anywhere! After 8 years of expansions to GTA 5 Online (psst, which we have!) we now get the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.

Criticisms range from bugs and glitches to strange spelling mistakes from a corner-cutting AI of samurai proportions and- THE BURGER DOESN’T SPIN!? And I’m sorry, “the taste of a real man’s heat” sounds more like a bikram yoga joint than a hotdog place! If I wanted to taste a man’s heat, I’d glaze myself in hot sauce and become a contortionist!

GTA 6: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly: Known leaker who covers titles from Rockstar and Quantic Dreams games (AccNGT) has recently aired some concerns on Twitter regarding how ‘Some people don’t realize how chaotic the development is’, also claiming that although the visuals will be high-quality, it will be a disappointment if it were to release next year.

While Naughty Dog and Rockstar have been known to get their hands dirty with crunch time issues (which you can find out more on here), given the recent announcement of the Dr Dre expansion for GTA, I doubt even Rockstar would confirm anything for GTA 6 this soon.

AccNGT doesn’t clarify if they’re talking about the gameplay or story mode being the main things to suffer.

Other leakers have claimed that GTA 6 allegedly started production shortly after former co-founder and writer Dan Houser left Rockstar. His departure has lead to Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two to dropping in stocks, so GTA 6 may well end up being the Metal Gear Survive of the Grand Theft Auto universe if this is true.

The post ‘Disappointing’ GTA 6 Claim from Industry Insider! first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Finally, here’s some good news coming out of Rockstar Studios. After the disastrous launch of their GTA: Trilogy, it looks like they’ve turned some of their attention back to their infamous GTA Online mode. The studio will be releasing new story content for the highly successful online world. Not only this, but we’ll be seeing the return from one iconic character we haven’t seen in action since 2013.

Franklin Clinton, one of the key characters from the story mode, is set to show his face on the streets of Los Santos once again. We’ve seen other GTA characters make the transition over from the story mode to online, including fellow protagonist Trevor Phillips. It has not been confirmed whether Michael will complete the trilogy of crossovers, so we will just have to hold out hope for that one.

After years of fans crying out for some sort of single-player DLC, it looks like that’ll never come to be. Instead, the company will be focusing on weaving new story-focused missions into its massive online mode on December 15th. Additionally, this doesn’t look like it’s going to be some measly update either. Rockstar will be be going all out for this one, even bringing in new music from one particularly famous rapper…

Dr Dre Making New Music For GTA Online

That’s right, former N.W.A and now infamous music producer Dr Dre is set to make an appearance in GTA Online. Whilst Snoop Dogg claimed Dre was making new music exclusively for GTA, many assumed that would be for the now in-development GTA 6. However, it looks like it is going to be featured on the new radio station we’ll be receiving online. This is what Rockstar had to say upon the matter:

“An eclectic new radio station from some very special guest hosts, huge first-of-their-kind updates to existing radio stations including a ton of new and unreleased exclusive tracks from Dr. Dre and a heavy-hitting line-up of artists”.

Obviously , this isn’t  Dre’s first appearance in the chaotic world of GTA Online. His music has been a mainstay in the game since its initial launch, as his collaborations with Snoop Dogg always blast out on West Coast Classics. Moreover, he makes a cameo appearance during the Heist Prep: Gather Intel mission introductory cutscene with DJ Pooh and Jimmy Iovine. We cannot wait to see what’s in store for him next in the GTA universe.

‘The Contract’- Everything We Know So Far

As the trailer has just been released, we don’t know too many details yet. Despite this, we’ll give you all the information we know so far.

Set years after the events of GTA V story, the expansion introduces us to F. Clinton and Partner, which is an agency that offers ‘solutions’ to the problems of Los Santos’ elite. It looks like we’ll be introduced to Franklin through our old friend Lamar Davis. Who else could it have been? The first man we see when getting off their plane into Los Santos is the one who brings it full circle with the GTA Story. Quite poetic really.

As part of that story, GTA 5 radio host (and GTA Online co-writer) DJ Pooh will contact Franklin to mention a potential client – Dr. Dre. Dre has lost his phone, which is full of unreleased new music. You’ll be tasked with securing the tracks and returning them to the legendary artist – and you can do this solo, or with a crew. This phone was mentioned in Dre’s previously mentioned small cameo, so is interesting to see how that will tie in to it all.

Rockstar further hints we’ll have interactions with not only Franklin, but also our favourite GTA canine- Chop. We’ve certainly missed the old pooch, so we couldn’t be happier to see he’s still his old self all these years later.

Furthermore, we will be introduced to a hacker called Imani. They will force us to travel to Franklin’s old neighbourhood, stylish LS parties and even FIB offices to help retrieve Dre’s music. Hopefully, this will lead to some other famous cameos, including perhaps an appearance from none other than Snoop Dogg himself?

The post GTA Online Bring Back Famous Protagonist first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Oh dear Rockstar, as if things couldn’t get any worse. Despite the new patch improving some of the bugs, and their heartfelt apologies to fans, they really can’t seem to catch a break here. They have now confirmed on twitter that the physical edition of the GTA Trilogy has now been delayed. Yikes.

Rockstar informed of us this news through their official Twitter account, with the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game coming on December 17 as opposed to December 7. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch players will have to wait even longer, with the game now coming in “early 2022”. This is probably due to the fact that the Switch editions were nigh on unplayable upon initial release.

The release dates for the physical versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition have changed.

Xbox Series X / Xbox One and PS4 will now release on December 17. The Nintendo Switch version is coming in early 2022.

GTA Trilogy Players Troll Rockstar After Disastrous Launch

It should never have come to this. Rockstar are undoubtedly one of the most revered game developers of the last two decades, yet somehow have managed to botch up a job which originally seemed impossible to fail in. All they had to do was take their time and graphically improve three of the most beloved titles in gaming history. No changes to the plot, characters or settings. Just a few graphic and game play updates. Simples.

But look where we are now. Receiving the lowest metascore of any Grand Theft Auto game ever, they certainly need to turn things around. With relentless trolling from players and critics alike, the latest patch has gone a long way in helping them do so. However, it should be noted that some PC modders have already improved the game significantly anyway. Obviously though, that hasn’t been available to all customers.

Rockstar Reputation On The Line

If the physical copies had been released as buggy as the digital, the reputation of Rockstar could well and truly be in the mud. One bad release can be forgivable, but two then becomes a pattern for the company. Gamers are now requesting refunds from PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo – even to the point they have now started a Change.org petition titled “We need proper refunds for GTA: The Definitive Edition.” It should therefore come as no surprise that the physical editions have been delayed.

Whilst we wait for the release of this hopefully improved trilogy, why not purchase a copy of one of Rockstars best ever games. Red Dead Redemption II won’t disappoint you at all, believe me. See what lengths one avid fan went to so he could share the joy with his father right here too! In the meantime, lets be patient, as that’s all we can do. Let’s hope they don’t make the same mistake with the rumoured GTA IV remaster!

The new 1.03 update will target some of the issues that have been blasted in memes on Twitter.

Rockstar’s recent release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has been blasted on the internet for being rife with bugs. Fans of GTA have expressed a mixture of disappointment and amusement at the often hilarious bugs plaguing the remasters.

Some bugs, however, were less amusing and more irritating. While rain and weather changes can add great atmosphere to any video game, they may have gone a little too far in the remasters.

As you can see (or rather, can’t see), the rain is so heavy and overwhelming that the player can barely work out where they’re going. It renders the game near unplayable. The 1.03 patch is going to address this first and foremost, along with other bugs and glitches.

However, the bug where CJ’s face covers the entire screen when activating first person on a quadbike will be missed for its hilarity.

The new patch also brings ‘stability improvements,’ will fix some texture issues, and add a cinematic camera mode.

The Trilogy is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC – and is apparently coming to the Nintendo Switch soon.

Let’s hope they get these crucial fixes done before implementing anything new, such as VR.

Rockstar games have quite rightly apologised for the disappointing launch of their remastered Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy- The Definitive Edition. Following its launch on 11 November, the game has come under various criticisms since then. From little issues like dodgy animations to bigger problems like game crashing glitches, it comes as no surprise that it has been receiving such poor reviews. Whilst some fans have tried to fix the problems themselves, there is only so much they can do. As such, it is great to see Rockstar taking responsibility for this technological disaster.

“Firstly, we want to sincerely apologise to everyone who has encountered issues playing these games,” an official statement from the company reads. “The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world. The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.”

Rockstar continued: “We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and to improve each game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be.”

Additionally, they announced the return of the three original titles back to its stores. Thankfully, owners of the new trilogy with have access to these classics until June 2022. Unfortunately though, we do not have any information as of yet to when Rockstar will update their remastered editions. Despite this, we’ve decided to compile a list on the things that they will have to focus upon.

Everything Rockstar Need To Improve In Their Trilogy

Who’d have thought this list would needed to have been made? Certainly not me. Nevertheless, here we are. Here’s everything that GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition got wrong in remastering GTA Trilogy: GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas:

The Graphics

When we were first treated to the GTA Trilogy’s updated graphics trailer, fans were mostly impressed. However, once we got our hands on the game, opinions quickly swayed. The new art direction was off putting, making buildings look less realistic. Furthermore, it resulted in the abandonment of subtle details of the original games The increased draw distances meant they have gotten rid of the dreary fog which added character to the San Andreas map, making it feel much bigger than it actually is.

To make matters even worse, some of the iconic GTA humour we know and love is being sacrificed because of the graphics too. One of the most hilarious mistakes is found on Shaft Hot Dogs’ signage, which originally reads: “The Taste of a Real Man’s Meat” and ‘remastered’ to “The Taste of a Real Man’s Heat.” This is disappointing to say the least.

Physics and Character Model Animations

Rockstar games may be messing up right now with their Grand Theft Auto Trilogy, but make no mistake, they are the creators of masterpieces. Giving us a variety of memorable gaming stories and moments, they really know how to keep us on the edge of our seats. Grand Theft Auto IV had us in tears with its split ending, as did the first Red Dead Redemption. However, neither one in my opinion can compete with the narrative they presented us with RDR2 (Red Dead Redemption 2).

Turn the clock back to 2010 for a moment. Many players were convinced that John Marston is, and always will be, the definitive Red Dead Redemption protagonist. His story was undeniably fantastic, but following the introduction of Arthur Morgan, I just don’t think they’re comparable anymore.

An unquestionable masterpiece, Rockstars western took us all on a journey that had thrills, twists and enough emotion to have grown men weeping come the end of its story. It’s vast collection of interesting characters were used as a channel to focus on important themes such as sacrifice, perseverance and betrayal. Now it seems that one avid fan is to translate the gut-wrenching story into novel form, so their father can experience the same emotions we all went through.

RDR2 Player Does Generous Gesture For Father

What an unbelievable Christmas gift this would be. One Reddit user posted that because Red Dead Redemption 2’s controls were a bit complicated for their father, they’ve instead decided to novelise the story of Arthur Morgan. However, he noted that it will be told through the perspective of the original games protagonist John Marston. Apparently, it will cover a variety of the story events shown in the games opening, to the point where Dutch, Micah and Arthur find Sadie Adler’s home overtaken by O’Driscolls.

We know that doesn’t sound like too long of a book, but hey, it’s a start at least! On the other hand, it is quite peculiar a game of this magnitude and story-telling depth hasn’t yet received an official novelisation anyway. Previously, there have been plenty of games which received comic book adaptationsso why not this one? Get on it Rockstar.

Despite this, it really is just fantastic to see the impact this story has had upon the gaming community. Three years on from release, fans still can’t get enough, and clearly want to share their experiences with their loved ones.
