Another week, another article about GTA Definitive Edition. Whilst I really wish I was writing something positive about it this time, it looks like once again that isn’t going to be the case. It really feels like groundhog day at this point. Nevertheless, we must persevere, and inform you all on how Rockstar have let us down this time.

What could it be this time, I hear you ask? Is the poorly rendered rain (which Rockstar to apologise) making a return? Have they taken away the original sounds once more? Or could it even be, god forbid, that the burger has stopped spinning again? Please tell us the burger hasn’t stopped spinning.

Luckily, this doesn’t seem to be the case, although the problem is still very concerning for the GTA community. Whilst the game has had numerous bugs preventing progression, this one looks the worst, as players are finding it difficult to save their game. We’ve seen Rockstar manage to fix many of the games issues, however this one is still bugging players during their game play experience.

Floppy Disk Disappearance Sends Players Into Fury

Despite many gamers having this problem, it was Reddit user Agozzo97 who brought it to our personal attention. According to a video they posted to a GTA subreddit, there is a glitch in GTA: San Andreas which stops players saving entirely. For those who haven’t played the game, essentially when a player wants to save the game, they have to locate one of the floating floppy disks in the world.

Sure it may sound strange by today’s standards, but that’s what happened back then. Unfortunately, this player discovered that when they tried to save, it instead disappeared, as if it’d been put into their weapon collection. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think a floppy disk would be that good of a weapon on the streets of Los Santos.

All jokes aside, this is understandably very annoying for any gamer that encounters the issue. It can truly take you out of the immersive experience of the game, and should be dealt with immediately. Check out the video below yourself to see exactly what happens:

GTA Definitive Edition Still Has A Long Way To Go To Fix Bugs

Sadly, it doesn’t quite look like this is ever going to be the ‘definitive edition’ we were promised. Many players have drawn parallels with 2020’s Cyberpunk 2077, which also had to fix a plethora of bugs to get the game anywhere near playable conditions.

According to Agozzo97, this problem happened on the PS4, but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen on over consoles too. Whilst many fans have found a way to get around the glitch, this shouldn’t be the case. We shouldn’t be relying on manoeuvres to get a game working effectively, and frankly it’s just getting quite embarrassing at this point. Whilst open world games are prone to errors, Rockstar must simply do better.

Throughout the years, GTA Online has become somewhat of a cultural phenomenon across the globe. Released by Rockstar Games in October 2013, it has been receiving routinely updates for just shy of a decade. We’ve seen the addition of heists, nightclubs, businesses, motorcycle gangs and even the return of one famous protagonist from the games main story.

However, one of the biggest updates was undoubtedly the introduction of The Diamond Casino & Resort, which let us embrace our inner Edward Thorp by indulging in a variety of gambling exploits. From slot machines to roulette, blackjack to horse racing, there’s enough fun here to give you endless hours of tense, wild excitement.

Amongst all these thrilling activities stands the main attraction of the Casino- The Lucky Wheel Prize. Beckoning over the casino goers in the main lobby, the wheel can be spun daily, and it offers various prizes including cash and clothes. However, what players really hope for is the grand prize, which is whatever vehicle is displayed on the podium that week.

We’ve all got our stories to tell when it comes to the infamous Lucky Wheel. Whether they be big prize near misses, total disappointments or even actually winning something of note, it’d be hard to find a player who hasn’t at least tried their luck once. Yet, for players living in certain regions, the casino is completely blocked due to local gambling laws.

Firstly, do those governments not understand what Grand Theft Auto is about? Sure, leave in the strip clubs, aimless killings, drug dealing and what not. But hey, we draw the line on if players want to spin a wheel to win a car. That’s just disgraceful behaviour, and we won’t be accepting it! Sounds a bit strange doesn’t it?

Secondly, well they didn’t actually think that would stop players finding away around it, did they? In the internet age, there’s always a loophole through these threats. Big Prize But Lacklustre Reward: Why Banned GTA Gambler Was Disappointed With Their First Lucky Wheel

One of the people who managed to bypass their countries gambling bans was reddit user Gaming_Nation 2007. After using a VPN, they managed to fool the game into thinking they were in another location. Therefore, they were granted access to the Los Santos attraction which they certainly couldn’t wait to get their hands upon.

As the wheel only gives you one spin per day, Gaming_Nation2007 was obviously hoping to make it count. They managed just that. In their first every spin, it landed on the grand prize- the podium vehicle. With only a 5% chance of winning the grand prize- it’s safe to say that’s some beginners luck. Nevertheless, it’s quite the impressive achievement.

However, they are less pleased about the vehicle they won. This week it is a Vapid Slamtruck, painted in pinkish hues, and covered in flame decals. Certainly, it’s not to everyone’s taste, but you at least you can use it for stunts right? Right?!

Overall, it is clear that Gaming_Nation2007’s daring adventure over countries internet borders was unsuccessful. However, they did manage to witness the spectacle of the grand casino, so at least they’ve got those memories. That’s what really counts now isn’t it?

On the other hand, players interested in doing the same should be weary. Countries such as UAE, China and South Korea have very strict penalties for online gambling. As a result, we’ve seen persistent (albeit unverified) rumours that GTA accounts have been banned for using a VPN. Be careful out there folks!

New year but same old problems for Rockstars recently remastered GTA Trilogy it seems. After the disastrous digital launch of the hotly anticipated title, the boxed edition has fallen to the same fate by dropping out of the UK Top 40 just a mere two weeks after its release. Yikes.

The PlayStation and Xbox versions of the collection were released physically just before Christmas, following the remasters’ digital release in November (the boxed Nintendo Switch edition is due later). Despite their delayed release, it looks like Rockstar haven’t managed to veer the sinking ship into the right direction just yet.

The signs were certainly there from the off. This is because just one week after its release, sales had dropped 70% to No.23. Whilst that was obviously disappointing, this takes things to a whole new level. Before we delve into what Rockstar intend to do about the situation, have a quick look at the trailer for the game below.

Is The Damage Already Done For The GTA Trilogy?

How could they get this so wrong? That’s the question we seem to still be continuously asking all these months later. They had three of the best games of the PS2 era in their hands, and somehow managed to turn it into something so disappointing. However, could there be a way back for the franchise?

Rockstar certainly hope so. Despite their failed efforts, it’s clear they still do really care about the fan reception by listening to the list of complaints players had. Additionally, they also issued an apology us all explaining their regret on how the trilogy launched.

“The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world,” it said. “The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.”

“We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and to improve each game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be.”

In my opinion, we really can’t be too spiteful to the studio. They may have messed up, but what game company in the last twenty years hasn’t had the odd blip? I’m sure Rockstar will get back to delivering high quality games for us to consume, and I can’t wait for it. Oh, Rockstar. Honey. Baby. My darling GTA holes. Corporate Uncritical Networking Teams of epic proportions! We NEED to talk… Just, in general, like, wanna get a pint after reading? Your treat, of course.

To briefly summarize before we get to the news: Rockstar has been making so much money from GTA 5 and GTA Online that they’re basically the Disney of gaming companies, in that they don’t really have to try too hard to make stuff anymore because that Scrooge McDuckian money pool isn’t exactly going anywhere! After 8 years of expansions to GTA 5 Online (psst, which we have!) we now get the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.

Criticisms range from bugs and glitches to strange spelling mistakes from a corner-cutting AI of samurai proportions and- THE BURGER DOESN’T SPIN!? And I’m sorry, “the taste of a real man’s heat” sounds more like a bikram yoga joint than a hotdog place! If I wanted to taste a man’s heat, I’d glaze myself in hot sauce and become a contortionist!

GTA 6: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly: Known leaker who covers titles from Rockstar and Quantic Dreams games (AccNGT) has recently aired some concerns on Twitter regarding how ‘Some people don’t realize how chaotic the development is’, also claiming that although the visuals will be high-quality, it will be a disappointment if it were to release next year.

While Naughty Dog and Rockstar have been known to get their hands dirty with crunch time issues (which you can find out more on here), given the recent announcement of the Dr Dre expansion for GTA, I doubt even Rockstar would confirm anything for GTA 6 this soon.

AccNGT doesn’t clarify if they’re talking about the gameplay or story mode being the main things to suffer.

Other leakers have claimed that GTA 6 allegedly started production shortly after former co-founder and writer Dan Houser left Rockstar. His departure has lead to Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two to dropping in stocks, so GTA 6 may well end up being the Metal Gear Survive of the Grand Theft Auto universe if this is true.

The post ‘Disappointing’ GTA 6 Claim from Industry Insider! first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Oh dear Rockstar, as if things couldn’t get any worse. Despite the new patch improving some of the bugs, and their heartfelt apologies to fans, they really can’t seem to catch a break here. They have now confirmed on twitter that the physical edition of the GTA Trilogy has now been delayed. Yikes.

Rockstar informed of us this news through their official Twitter account, with the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game coming on December 17 as opposed to December 7. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch players will have to wait even longer, with the game now coming in “early 2022”. This is probably due to the fact that the Switch editions were nigh on unplayable upon initial release.

The release dates for the physical versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition have changed.

Xbox Series X / Xbox One and PS4 will now release on December 17. The Nintendo Switch version is coming in early 2022.

GTA Trilogy Players Troll Rockstar After Disastrous Launch

It should never have come to this. Rockstar are undoubtedly one of the most revered game developers of the last two decades, yet somehow have managed to botch up a job which originally seemed impossible to fail in. All they had to do was take their time and graphically improve three of the most beloved titles in gaming history. No changes to the plot, characters or settings. Just a few graphic and game play updates. Simples.

But look where we are now. Receiving the lowest metascore of any Grand Theft Auto game ever, they certainly need to turn things around. With relentless trolling from players and critics alike, the latest patch has gone a long way in helping them do so. However, it should be noted that some PC modders have already improved the game significantly anyway. Obviously though, that hasn’t been available to all customers.

Rockstar Reputation On The Line

If the physical copies had been released as buggy as the digital, the reputation of Rockstar could well and truly be in the mud. One bad release can be forgivable, but two then becomes a pattern for the company. Gamers are now requesting refunds from PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo – even to the point they have now started a Change.org petition titled “We need proper refunds for GTA: The Definitive Edition.” It should therefore come as no surprise that the physical editions have been delayed.

Whilst we wait for the release of this hopefully improved trilogy, why not purchase a copy of one of Rockstars best ever games. Red Dead Redemption II won’t disappoint you at all, believe me. See what lengths one avid fan went to so he could share the joy with his father right here too! In the meantime, lets be patient, as that’s all we can do. Let’s hope they don’t make the same mistake with the rumoured GTA IV remaster!

The new 1.03 update will target some of the issues that have been blasted in memes on Twitter.

Rockstar’s recent release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has been blasted on the internet for being rife with bugs. Fans of GTA have expressed a mixture of disappointment and amusement at the often hilarious bugs plaguing the remasters.

Some bugs, however, were less amusing and more irritating. While rain and weather changes can add great atmosphere to any video game, they may have gone a little too far in the remasters.

As you can see (or rather, can’t see), the rain is so heavy and overwhelming that the player can barely work out where they’re going. It renders the game near unplayable. The 1.03 patch is going to address this first and foremost, along with other bugs and glitches.

However, the bug where CJ’s face covers the entire screen when activating first person on a quadbike will be missed for its hilarity.

The new patch also brings ‘stability improvements,’ will fix some texture issues, and add a cinematic camera mode.

The Trilogy is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC – and is apparently coming to the Nintendo Switch soon.

Let’s hope they get these crucial fixes done before implementing anything new, such as VR.

Rockstar games have quite rightly apologised for the disappointing launch of their remastered Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy- The Definitive Edition. Following its launch on 11 November, the game has come under various criticisms since then. From little issues like dodgy animations to bigger problems like game crashing glitches, it comes as no surprise that it has been receiving such poor reviews. Whilst some fans have tried to fix the problems themselves, there is only so much they can do. As such, it is great to see Rockstar taking responsibility for this technological disaster.

“Firstly, we want to sincerely apologise to everyone who has encountered issues playing these games,” an official statement from the company reads. “The Grand Theft Auto series — and the games that make up this iconic trilogy — are as special to us as we know they are to fans around the world. The updated versions of these classic games did not launch in a state that meets our own standards of quality, or the standards our fans have come to expect.”

Rockstar continued: “We have ongoing plans to address the technical issues and to improve each game going forward. With each planned update, the games will reach the level of quality that they deserve to be.”

Additionally, they announced the return of the three original titles back to its stores. Thankfully, owners of the new trilogy with have access to these classics until June 2022. Unfortunately though, we do not have any information as of yet to when Rockstar will update their remastered editions. Despite this, we’ve decided to compile a list on the things that they will have to focus upon.

Everything Rockstar Need To Improve In Their Trilogy

Who’d have thought this list would needed to have been made? Certainly not me. Nevertheless, here we are. Here’s everything that GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition got wrong in remastering GTA Trilogy: GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas:

The Graphics

When we were first treated to the GTA Trilogy’s updated graphics trailer, fans were mostly impressed. However, once we got our hands on the game, opinions quickly swayed. The new art direction was off putting, making buildings look less realistic. Furthermore, it resulted in the abandonment of subtle details of the original games The increased draw distances meant they have gotten rid of the dreary fog which added character to the San Andreas map, making it feel much bigger than it actually is.

To make matters even worse, some of the iconic GTA humour we know and love is being sacrificed because of the graphics too. One of the most hilarious mistakes is found on Shaft Hot Dogs’ signage, which originally reads: “The Taste of a Real Man’s Meat” and ‘remastered’ to “The Taste of a Real Man’s Heat.” This is disappointing to say the least.

Physics and Character Model Animations

The people are fighting back! After the disappointing launch of the GTA Trilogy, many fans have been left downtrodden for what was supposed to be the game of the year. Unfortunately, that just hasn’t turned out to be the case. Whilst there have been a variety of problems, one glaring omission from the original games was the exclusion of certain songs and sounds. Those waiting to rock on to Billie Jean  whilst driving along Vice City’s coastline, or get their groove going in the streets of Los Santos with James Browns Funky President , have been left shocked as neither have been available in this remaster.

They’re not the only ones. Over twenty tracks have been removed from the game.There are 8 songs that have been removed in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The list of missing songs from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is much larger at 17 whereas no songs were removed from Grand Theft Auto 3. Fortunately though, we have modders in this world. In this instance, modders have done what modders are best at; improving our gaming experience. They have somehow managed to restore all of the removed songs from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City whilst also dealing with an issue in GTA III with menu sound effects. They’re doing your job for you Rockstar.

Why Were The Songs Removed From GTA Trilogy?

Obviously, Rockstar didn’t just remove the songs for the sake of it. The reason is because of licensing problems, where Rockstar no long have the rights to certain songs. Despite this coming as a shock to certain fans, mobile players will have known the pain when they loaded up their 2012 Android and iOS versions of Vice City. This edition also didn’t feature some of the iconic songs from the original, and neither did the subsequent PlayStation 3 and 4 versions.

This is undeniably frustrating, but as we’ve said beforehand, at least we have modders! This particular one was done by creator Junior_Dijr, just in case you want to thank him for his creation. Not only this, but there are supposed  plans to restore all the radio stations and songs across all three games. It should be noted that this mod is only available for PC players, much to the disappointment of console gamers (including myself). Obviously, no one enjoys it when content is removed from their favourite game. Sadly though, the world of music licensing is cruel and expensive. Perhaps Rockstar didn’t pursue a renewal, or maybe the licence holders were persistent in their rejection. At the moment, we’ve really been left in the dark on what the exact reasoning is.

However, it isn’t all bad news. Rockstar have stated that all of the source music will now play in a much higher audio quality. It will now be available in 16bit 44hrz and 5.1 Surround Sound. So at least we’ve got that, I suppose! There’s always a positive to find somewhere. Which is why, despite its troubles, it’s definitely worth pre-ordering the physical copy when Rockstar release it. Hopefully, they will have sorted out all their problems by then, and we get the true GTA experience we deserve. Until then, we recommend sticking to GTA V.

The post GTA Trilogy Modders Give Original Sounds Back first appeared on Get2Gaming.

The Grand Theft Auto: Definitive Edition Trilogy has had a disastrous launch thus far. From dodgy character models to strange animation choices, it hasn’t quite lived up to the hype we were so desperately hoping it would deliver. Not one bit. However, players can live with certain characters looking a bit off, as the core GTA games are still untouched and remain absolute classics. However, what happens when the game becomes physically unplayable? That’s when there’s a bit of a problem.

Three days ago, Rockstar had to pull Grand Theft Auto: The Definitive Edition from the PC stores. This was because the remastered collection of their classics used an online Rockstar Games launcher, which was failing. Apparently, they had “to remove some data files that were unintentionally included in the new versions of these games”. Yikes.

They went on to publicly apologise for any issues which people have had and strive to “improve and update overall performance as we move forward”.  Thankfully, its now made a return to the platform but GTA players are known for having long memories.

Where Does GTA Go From Here?

Many gamers have been outspoken for their criticisms of the latest versions of GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas. We’ve seen a plethora of glitches and bugs shown through various shared screenshots and videos. Consequently, many fans have gone over to Metacritic to show their displeasure. Review bombing the game has meant that this GTA has the lowest meta score rating of any of the games in the famous franchise. Without a doubt, this is a worrying time for the series.

But where can they go from here? In all honesty, we’re not entirely too sure. Firstly, they have got to sort out the physics and character models immediately. The uniqueness of the original games is starting to be lost, and we just can’t allow that to happen. Secondly, it’s probably best if they lower the price for the game a bit. The original price for games which are over a decade old isn’t going down well with fans, nor should it be. And lastly, just don’t make this mistake again if they plan to remaster Grand Theft Auto IV. I can’t handle Niko Bellic looking as terrifying as some of the side characters in this game. Please Rockstar, just do better.

Nevertheless, I still do have faith that by the time the physical editions are released that Rockstar will have a hold on all these issues. They have giving me some of the best gaming experiences of my life, and this is just a little rough patch. Therefore, I have no hesitancy in pre-ordering it when it comes out. They will fix it, and I can’t wait to see what the game will look like when they do. In the meantime though, stick with GTA V.
