Another day, another Marvel character added to Fortnite. Same old, same old. After the additions of Clint Barton and Kate Bishop earlier this week, it looks like another iconic Marvel character has finally been confirmed. It’s none other than Spider-Man’s archenemy- The Green Goblin!

The popular free-to-play Battle Royale is arriving at the midway stage of its first season of Chapter 3. So far, we’ve seen a whole new island, Spider-Man swing in and even an Arcane character! However, this is when things get serious- with the Goblin gliding in on the action.

This exciting news come from Fortnite’s official website, which details the fun reason why Green Goblin has appeared on the island. Apparently, he received a top-off form The Daily Bugle regarding Spider-Man’s whereabouts and got himself over to the island immediately. Obviously, he won’t be needing to jump out the bus, with his own glider getting him over of course.

Fortnite Green Goblin Not Based On Willem Dafoe Design

After Willem Dafoe put in another stellar performance as the Goblin in No Way Home, it only seems appropriate he’d be the villain making the crossover into the Fortnite Universe. Whilst this one is more comic-accurate than the Willem Dafoe version, that won’t make him any less amazing.

Green Goblin comes with an array of themed accessories, like the Pumpkin Bomb Back Bling, Pumpkin P’axe, Goblin Glider, and the Arm the Pumpkin! Emote. Despite all the pumpkin theming, the Pumpkin Launcher unfortunately remains vaulted, which would certainly be a perfect match.

Who can’t wait for this one then? I certainly can’t! Green Goblin is undoubtedly one of the best supervillains ever, so to see him in any sort of media is a treat! Could we see him appear the upcoming Spider-Man game too? Who knows? He’s not the only addition fans are demanding in the sequel! Who’s ready for another Fortnite update then? After announcing some rather bizarre crossovers, Fortnite have just revealed another update today, which looks to make balance changes to a few of the weapons which were added to Chapter 3. Could this cause some divisions in the Fortnite community, with weapon nerfs and boosts proving unpopular in the past?

After a highly successful opening month, Chapter 3 has given us all sorts of new content to delve into. This includes the introduction of a brand new map, which includes returning fan-favourite POIs. Additionally, we’ve seen a countless number of new items and weaponry, which are what we expect to be altered in this latest update. Epic Games have certainly no rest when it comes to delivering for their Fortnite brand.

The news was revealed in a tweet which detailed exactly what weapons will be succumbed to said update. Check out the announcement down below:

Which Fortnite Weapons Are Going To Be Altered?

As detailed in the tweet, the balance update will effect the Stinger SMG, MK-Seven Assualt Rifle and the Auto Shotgun. It looks like the Stinger SMG will have its damage rate reduced from 18/19/20/21/22/24 to 16/17/18/19/20/22. Similarly, the MK-Seven Assault Rifle is getting downgraded from 21-26 to 20-25. In contrast, the only weapon which is getting improved is the Auto Shotgun which is seeing its reload time reduced from 8.8-6.8 to 6.2-4.8. Every cloud, we suppose.

However, it should be noted that these may not be the only changes we’re receiving. Fortnite does admit they’ll be evaluating the weapon balance changes as the season goes on, so expect to hear some news in the not so distant future. It’s clear that they’re not adverse to updates, as shown with their 19.01 hotfix which included severe weather to the island, in the form of tornadoes and lightning.

Not only this, but we’ve received exciting news from a high-profile leaker that there’s another exciting update on its way. Fortnite leaker HYPEX has revealed the potential for several Spider-Man NPCs  appearing at the Daily Bugle, which will include Mary Jane Watson and Green Goblin. This is all after the recent Spider-Man update in the game. He’s certainly been doing well for himself that old Spider-Man hasn’t he?

It seems that Mary Jane will sell a Web Shooter with infinite web fluid, whilst the actions of the Goblin remain unknown. Moreover, the leaker believes a third Spider-Man-related character will also appear, although it’s a mystery as to whom. Obviously, this just makes us even more excited for the future! Get ready Fortnite fans, as you’re about to be greeted with an overwhelming amount of new content! We’ve finally received news on the upcoming chapter and it’s certainly got us excited! Be prepared for an all new island, new challenges as well as a new battle pass including none other than our favourite webslinger- Spider-Man!

A new trailer landed upon our screens, which demonstrates all the cool new locations we can visit. Fans of Marvel will be ecstatic to see the appearance of Peter Parker’s workplace- The Daily Bugle. Similarly, we’re excited to see the symbiote suit and a new web-swinging mechanic which will add an interesting new game play dynamic to the franchise.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Starts As It Means To Go On

What a time to be a Fortnite fan. After last weeks epic Chapter 2 conclusion, it was revealed that Dwayne Johnson was the voice behind the mysterious foundation. They were an organisation in the game that gives order across the dimensions within the Fortnite Universe. Additionally, you can pick up a skin for his character in the battle pass. Who wouldn’t want to play as The Rock?

‘The End’ certainly lived up to everyone’s expectations, however we cannot wait for this new chapter to emerge. Not only is the new map enticing us, but the new features look really impressive too. It looks like Epic Games will be adopting a slide mechanic into the game, similar to Respawn’s Apex Legends (which we’re not complaining about) Moreover, it seems that weather events will be changing the type of fighting you’ll see across the map.

Essentially, the likes of huge tornados can absolutely devastate your chances, or perhaps be used as a battle advantage. Their unpredictability will certainly make the game feel much more immersive.

Unfortunately, the game was supposed to be released earlier this week, but that doesn’t matter now! Get straight into the game as soon as you can. Those looking to enhance their battle royale experience even further, well we have even more great news for you. It was recently revealed that Epic Games have  acquired Rock Band and Dance Central creator Harmonix “to create musical journeys and gameplay for Fortnite”.

“Music is already bringing millions of people together in Fortnite, from our emotes to global concerts and events. Together with the Harmonix team we will transform how players experience music, going from passive listeners to active participants.”

Lastly, The Epic Games Store Black Friday sale launched on Tuesday, including savings on over 900 “games, editions and add-ons”. This really is an unbelievable time to be a Fortnite fan. The murderous symbiote serial killer was first introduced in 1992 and has been making carnage ever since…

Something a little different today- a certain symbiote is about to turn 30 next year and it has been announced he will finally be receiving his very own one-shot, which will turn into an ongoing comic series.

Carnage from Marvel Comics, the adversary of Spider-Man and the archenemy of Venom, first made his appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #361 and has gone on to feature in several more comics, animated films and tv shows, video games, and most recently, the 2021 film Venom: Let There Be Carnage. 

Carnage Forever

Carnage Forever will be written by the current Superman writer, Phillip Kennedy Johnson, along with current Venom co-writer Ram V, and writer Ty Templeton, who will each write their own story in the one-shot. Templeton will also provide art, along with Edgar Salazar, and other artists that are still to be named.

Johnson promises the one-shot will give the readers a new take on the symbiote, with aesthetics still fueled by the horror film genre, but will be leaning more towards “almost Exorcist-like” rather than the typical “slasher film” type portrayals that Carnage receives.

 

Without spoiling it, we see him make an unexpected bond with a very unexpected kind of character, with all the grisly and horrifying consequences Carnage fans have come to expect. – Phillip Kennedy Johnson, Writer.

Now with Carnage Forever, I’m thrilled to have a chance to tell some absolutely twisted tales for the killer symbiote for this anniversary collection and perhaps seed some ideas for things to come! – Ram V, Writer.

The announcement also promises an ongoing comic series for Carnage, yet doesn’t give any more details on what to expect or what the title for the series will be.

Speaking of symbiotes, Venom has been confirmed to be the antagonist for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Carnage was also featured in Fortnite Season 8 to celebrate the release of Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

Carnage Forever is out on February 23 2022.

The post Marvel Comics: Carnage Celebrates 30 Years with this New Comic Series first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Unfortunately, it has been well-known for sometime now that Marvel Avengers has not been doing too well. It’s lifespan so far has been extremely lacklustre, resulting in poor critic responses and fan trolling. They’ve hardly helped themselves, especially with the addition of paid XP boosters, which they were forced to subsequently remove.

In the words of Bonnie Tyler, developers Square Enix have certainly been ‘holding out for a hero’. What better hero to be waiting for than the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man? If anyone can save the Avengers right now, it surely has to be our favourite wall-crawling hero. As Spider-Man has had so many video game iterations, players will always be interested in what sort of rendition we’ll get this time. Featuring in over 15 games, we hope this version is going to be a worthy addition to the collection.

One major question that players have been wondering is how old is this Peter Parker? The reason this is asked so much is because Marvel Avengers have introduced various characters in different stages of their superhero careers. For example, Kamala Khan is only just starting out in the world of the crime-fighting.

Previously, we’ve played as both rookie and mature Spidey before. Traditionally, he’s been seen as a college student, which is what the first image of Spider-Man in the game shows. It has now been revealed by one developer on a Reddit thread that he is indeed around college age. What a shock.

Additionally, the same developer went on to clarify that Spider-Man has in fact been a hero longer than Kamala Khan, but is not as experienced as the Avengers. His story supposedly begun after the events of A-Day, which is why he could further relate with Ms Marvel. It seems that Spider-Man is slowly developing into his peak but it remains to be seen whether he can single-handedly save the Avengers game. We can always hope.

As mentioned above, Spidey has had success in his past when it comes to video games. As a result, we thought it best to compel a list ranking the top five games the web-slinger has featured in. Hopefully, this new version of the character will bring the success these previous games have seen. So let’s dive right into it!

5. Spider-Man (2000)

Spider-Man’s first outing in the realm of 3D gaming was an overwhelming success. Activision were the ones responsible for this title, and perfectly captured the wit, charm and aesthetic which makes Spider-Man universally loved. Swinging and leaping from building to building was revolutionary at the time, as was the combat system which we hadn’t seen in any Spider-Man feature to this point.

Not only this, but the character roster was just absolutely brilliant. Appearances from Venom, Mysterio, Carnage and Scorpion really made you feel like you were thrown right into a comic book. Add on top of that some classic Stan Lee narration, and what more could you possibly want? This isn’t just an iconic Spider-Man game, but also one of the best games to come out of the original PlayStation.

4. Spider-Man: Web Of Shadows (2008)

Taking a darker rendition of the beloved superhero, Web of Shadows was a great example of original story-telling in Spider-Man games. We see Spidey deal with some inner demons caused by the appearance of the symbiotic suit, which gives players a great choice system helping to replicate the convoluted mindset of this particular Spider-Man. Along our journey, we take on the likes of Kingpin, Venom and The Tinkerer and fight alongside other iconic marvel superheroes such as Luke Cage and Wolverine.

In terms of game play, we had previously never seen such a brutal combat system in a Spider-Man game before. It was fast, fluid and had incredible animations to match. When you used the black suit, you felt a significant difference in power, meaning you never wanted to take it off. Overall, this is a highly underrated Spider-Man outing and definitely deserves its spot in this ranking.

3. Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Tobey Maguires second Spider-Man movie is arguably still the best Spider-Man movie to date. Until a few years ago, the same would have been said about it’s movie tie-in video game. Despite most movie tie-ins being monumental flops, this one changed the game when it came to game play. The engaging in-game traversal had never been better, with webs actually attaching to buildings. For the first time, you could feel the impact and momentum when travelling across New York and it was everything we had hoped for.

Furthermore, the game really developed the original narrative in a sincerely meaningful way. We see more of Peter’s struggles as a student as well as a variety of villains that weren’t explored in the feature film. This was the gold standard for how every Spider-Man should’ve been, and nothing quite matched it. That is until the next two games came along…

2. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020)

Whilst this game doesn’t let us take control of the traditional Peter Parker, Miles Morales does just as good a job as his experienced mentor. His first solo outing in a video game is filled with wonderful set pieces, excellent combat and an experience which any Spidey fan just can’t miss out on. Insomniac Games added new mechanics and a unique swinging style which makes him feel completely different from any other Spider-Man before him. Whilst the campaign is rather short, the overall experience is undeniably enjoyable which makes so high up on this list. Don’t be afraid to pick up a copy here and see for yourself! And now for the number one spot…

1. Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018)

Was there really any doubt? Insomniacs first outing with Spider-Man created the definitive wall-crawling experience. Not much as really needs to be said. The game has an unbelievably emotional story, a thrilling combat system and web-swinging which we hadn’t seen since Spider-Man 2 and that, ladies and gentlemen, is all we can really ask for in a Spider-Man game. We cannot wait for the sequel to come out, and we’re sure you can’t either.

So there we have it! That’s my personal list of every Spider-Man game so far. I just hope that the Spidey we see in Marvel’s Avengers can replicate any of these iterations. Marvel Avengers players will no longer be able to purchase boosts with real money. In today’s announcement, the games official Twitter account said that the Hero’s Catalusts and Fragment Extractors will only be earn-able through in-game purchases.

Developers Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix first announced the option to purchase the boots with real money back in October.

This left players feeling upset and betrayed. They viewed the upcoming DLC as a pay-to-win style event which obviously takes away from the competitiveness of gaming. Especially considering it increased the amount of currency and experience earned.

Fortunately, it seems as if the outcry from fans has paid off. The boosts will no longer be available for purchase today. Great news.

Crystal Dynamics sent out an apology which addresses the concerns. They believed that they saw the consumables as an ‘option for an evolving player base’ and they weren’t pay-to-win as ‘they don’t offer power directly’. Nevertheless, they realised the fans were displeased with the decision and hope their retirbution ‘can be the first step in rebuilding fans confidence’.

Not First Time Marvel Avengers Receives Backlash

Marvel Avengers has been corrupted with controversy ever since its initial release. Here’s a list of some backlashes the game has received thus far:

• Avengers Opening Day Character Models
•  Multiple Early Access Windows
• Avengers Sony and Marvel Exclusivity
• Exclusives from outside the Games Sphere

If you would like to see the reasoning behind these explained in further detail, here’s a link explaining them all. Overall, fans weren’t impressed and neither should they have been. As a result of the lacklustre game-play, fans even made hilarious memes mocking the game.

Despite this, the game does seem to be making a resurgence due to its presence on the Xbox Game Pass. However, they still have a long way to go to make sure fans are fully back on side. For a game featuring Earths Mightiest heroes, it really needs to become just that bit mightier.

Adversely, Insomniac have seemed to have gotten the amazing part of Spider-man bang on! Make sure to pick up a copy of one of the best superhero games ever right here! Hopefully Square Enix take some inspiration from it.

Surprising (or not, depending who you ask) that this hasn’t happened sooner, considering Fortnite is no stranger to mixing up superhero cosmetics, modes and expansions to their universe. From Marvel’s Avengers,DC heroes and villains to even a semi-custom super suit that would make Frozone blush, it’s about time Epic Games got on the Spider-Man train.

Known reliable dataminer and previously discussed leaker ‘HYPEX’ provided details of a likely collaboration between Epic Games’ cash cow and the friendly neighborhood web-swinger. He claimed to have found an item code named ‘WestSausage’, seemingly related to a new project Epic Games is working on, being described as having ‘swinging mechanics’. Besides ‘west sausage’ sounding vaguely like ‘web swinger’ when you say it three times fast, the code of the item also includes notes about ‘Swing Attach Location, Swing Detach Time, Swinging, Swing Accelerate, Swing Jump’.

I’m a profusely adoring fan of the Baller vehicle, or as I like to call it, the ‘rolly-ball wooshy swinger-noodle‘, so sign me up if that means we’ll be seeing some more physics-based swingaling-by-the-dingaling action return to Fortnite!

Besides Spider-Man, Fortnite has also recently seen Eddie Brock, Venom and Carnage come to the game as purchasable skins (though you can also get Carnage by grinding up the Season Pass). There’s also a neat handy-dandy symbiote tendril weapon you can pick up in the game, which was temporarily removed because of how powerful it is. Considering I’ve only successfully managed to fight off one bloke who had that weapon in all the times I’ve encountered people with it, yeah, can agree the Carnage tendril is pretty overpowered… Except when I have it, then it’s completely fair all around you guys, I swear😉… Alternative theory, maybe West Sausage is gonna be a hotdog themed knock-off parody and I’m completely off the mark.

Given the upcoming Spiderman No Way Home movie coming up AND the post-credits scene of Let There Be Carnage revealing the Tom Holland Spider-Man’s existence in the Sony Venom films, this is a teaser of some extra crossover event where more cosmetics and modes will be announced near the film’s release. It worked well when Fortnite did that in a Shang Chi crossover bundle, but fingers crossed this doesn’t turn into another ‘The Emperor has returned’ moment like when Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker’ debuted its opening crawl via Fortnite cutscene.

Who doesn’t love a good superhero suit?

Marvel’s Spider-Man certainly gives us a wide variety in the game, with over 40 different Spider-Man suits to unlock in the main game and also in the downloadable content, The City That Never Sleeps. They range from the Iron Spider suit to the Spider-Punk suit (that gives you the power to defeat enemies by literally rocking out on your guitar), but a fan on Reddit has come forward with a rather unique idea.

Marvel’s Spider-Man fans are always being creative with their ideas for the next in-game suit designs. For example, one Reddit user showed us what Spider-Man would look like in a Symbiote Suit. Yet Reddit user Loner216 has suggested a very unique suit to celebrate the 4th of July in America: Captain America’s suit.

Fans rarely focus on real-world holidays when designing the suits, however the recent Marvel comic book covers are the reason behind this inspiration. A new set of variant covers that celebrate 80 years of Captain America have been showing different Marvel characters donning the Captain America suit, from Moon Knight to the Fantastic Four. Thus, Loner216 suggested Spider-Man’s version of the suit should be added to the game.

It’s surprising to know Spider-Man has never worn the iconic stars and stripes look in the comics before, especially when he manages to pull it off so well. The red outlined eyes and dark blue shade look similar to the Miles Morales suit; a light blue line extends from shoulders to midsection, and red and white stripes travel from his chest down to his stomach, with a silver star being the centre of the suit. And of course, he is holding Captain America’s shield.

The suit would be a perfect addition to the game as it could give Spider-Man Captain America powers- possibly the ability to use the shield too. He certainly would be unstoppable combining shield throws with his webbing powers and it’s definitely something everyone would love to see.

As you properly have heard, Sony have finally released the excellent news of the PS4 Pro. The new console is going to take gaming to another level. Not only just with gameplay but with visuals and scenery. Making games look more realistic than ever.

This is extra exciting news for publishers and developers as now they can put all the new technology available for these companies to make their games extra special.

When I played Uncharted 4: A Thief’s end this year, I even thought the game was way ahead of its time. However, now seeing what the Playstation 4 Pro can achieve developers such as Naughty Dog are going to take full advantage and take over the gaming market.

Al Hastings, chief architect at Insomniac Games, during an interview at Sony’s presentation had this to say:

“Four our Spider-Man project we’re really working as hard as we can to build a really rich, detailed version of New York City and the amount of detail and improved fidelity you can get on a 4K display – especially a 4K display that has HDR – is pretty stunning,” “It’s a real step forward. That’s what we’re most excited about.”

Christian Gyrling, Naughty Dog lead programmer was very quick to agree with this statement.

Gyrling also had this to say:

“Yeah, my personal versus company feel HDR is really the future for me and for the studio,” “We’re really excited to allow our artists to make use of these colours.”
